February 21st, or 28th & July 4th & October 3rd, 2009Last saturday the premier of Boudoir Bizarre on a new location: The Lexion Venue in Westzaan. Because the "Waakzaamheid" became too small and because of the fact it will close it's doors in June. We pre-partied with friends from Groningen and The Hague and got ready for what was to come. Ten o'clock sharp we arrive at the Lexion; 4 euro parking, chilly breeze and at ten, fifteen the doors finally opened. A pretty thorough inspection by the doormen... They're gonne have their hands full when the mob arrives. Changing into gear at the big dressing room and no hassles at the wardrobe. Onwards to the Door bitches in sparkling outfits and loads of balloons for the lady visitors.
The Lexion, well known to us, noticing happily the "chilly" main room wasn't in use. So we went exploring immediately. What did the organization do with the place? Two main rooms on the ground floor... The lower level, a little whiter than we like, Lounge and "the Cave" as a very nicely decorated BDSM Playroom. A space in the hallway for a couple of stands with BDSM gear and clothing. The Darkroom in the corner behind some fences and a few couches still wet from...(?). Not really inviting to "hang out". The Absinthe Bar tucked away in a corner a bit and on the other side.. The Photo booth.
The different rooms were warm and nicely decorated, but it felt like the whole party was waiting for the start. The DJ's still sound checking, or were did they start already? Slower than we are used to with Boudoir Bizarre the place filled with people. Big line at the door maybe? Fortunately we bumped into friends and acquaintances and the feeling got cosy and familiar. Nice outfits with some pink and red and frivolous twists. Lots of work for most take or leave a few red shorts ?! The party is taking off now and the DJ's in both rooms tearing it up nicely. It never gets real crowded, probably because of too much space for the number of people, but finding a spot in the lounge proved more difficult.
Time for the shows. They could have been a little shorter, but fortunately they got plenty of attention. The pink ladies with grace and admired the rope-act downstairs in the Cave. Beautiful and with love applied and unwrapped! The subtile pony play and the food fight act... Soo corny... Loved it. The combination created a very nice atmosphere, but somehow it felt like everybody needed to get used to the location. Of course the Strawberry girls and the Ice cream ladies, very welcome in the warm rooms, a little chilly in the drafty hallway.
Difficult to choose between DJ Dendrite and DaDominator, so we kept moving up and down from the one to the other till we were done at five o'clock. All together we had a good night, enjoyed the atmosphere and like to thank the organization for their great effort to create the intimate party. The fact that a few things are under control of the Venue, can't be accounted to the organization. But we hope negotiations will go smooth in the future. Or could we expect another new location?
On to Boudoir Bizarre number nine!
